These are functional lamps. I like to display them with a smart LED bulb that changes color, so they have a plug on the end for that purpose (easy to remove) , but I will send you the cover plates and hardware so that you can hardwire it to a switch. I have threaded the wire through chain so it can be hung from a secured hook or anchor. Feel free to ask me any questions about it.
I just upgraded the old Cat and Black Octopus lamps so that they are hanging from chains rather than the cord
